The Diaper Pantry at Peters Creek Baptist Church is committed to assisting families in the South Hills of Pittsburgh who have small children or who are caregivers for the elderly and are experiencing diaper insecurity.
It has been determined that 50% of families who use diapers in our area are unable to afford them. The Diaper Pantry holds distribution days on the third Saturday of the month in order to provide those families with the diapers, wipes, and other soft goods that they need to get through the month.
Additional care and support is offered by providing encouraging conversation, a listening ear, and a focus on maintaining the dignity of every family we serve.
Volunteer and Donation Driven
The Diaper Pantry at Peters Creek Baptist Church is completely volunteer-operated and staffed, and its income is dependent solely on the generosity of those whose hearts are touched by the important mission we are called to.
We seek to partner with organizations that are similarly focused in meeting the needs of struggling families and can help us meet our monthly commitment to our families.

Directors

Cathy Diller, Director of Operations and Caring
After a brief conversation with the Sr Pastor of Peters Creek Baptist Church in June of 2021, Cathy saw a need and launched the Diaper Pantry to fill that demand. Her love of serving others is very apparent as she has served in the caregiving world for over the past 30 years. Her love of encouraging, nurturing and providing for those less fortunate than others has brought her to her hearts delight by meeting with moms & dads, teens and widows who visit the Diaper Pantry monthly.
Judy Kerr, Director of Administration and Outreach
Judy’s heart has always been in serving others. Joining Diaper Pantry at their 4-month mark afforded her a growing community program that fulfilled this desire. Before connecting with this nonprofit, she served 30 years as a registered nurse in multiple areas. Her favorite was working with OB/Gyne and Maternity patients. Her love of caring for women and their babies has now come full circle with the Diaper Pantry. Meeting, greeting, and serving the Diaper Pantry families is definitely one of her favorite places to be.

Jeff Kerr, Director of Inventory and Facility
Jeff began working with the Diaper Pantry after hearing that a newly launched nonprofit needed someone with his professional knowledge. Owning his own business for 30 years afforded him the opportunity to join the nonprofit on their ground floor and help structure a firm foundation. As his favorite past time is woodworking and building, the challenge of providing an adequate space for the Diaper Pantry keeps him very busy but also very happy. You can find Jeff most days building shelves, moving boxes, or cleaning out storage areas to better the work flow.
Marianne Smith, Director of Social Resources
After 22 years working at the Washington Hospital, Marianne retired in July 2024. Marianne initially began working at the hospital as a medical and behavioral health social worker. After several years at the hospital, Marianne transitioned to the Washington Hospital’s Children’s Therapy Center as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. In her role as a family counselor, Marianne provided counseling to children and their families as well as community resource information when needed. Marianne joined the Diaper Pantry two years ago directing our families to social resources in our local area.
